Update 2021-07-06: Tropical Storm Elsa headed up Suwannee River Basin 2021-07-06

Valdosta has published its upstream results for Friday, which showed very bad water quality at US 41, GA 133, and US 84 on the Withlacoochee River.

There’s been even more rain since then, and more is coming straight at the Suwannee River Basin with Tropical Storm Elsa.

Valdosta also published their downstream results through Wednesday. That revealed that Valdosta got very bad downstream results for the previous Friday. Some of that started upstream as far as US 41. But more came out of Okapilco Creek, showing higher numbers at Knights Ferry Boat Ramp.

So once again heavy rains tend to cause river contamination.

Most of the Swim Guide “beaches” still show green, because we do not have new downstream results since the previous post.
