Watch out: contamination washing downstream, Withlacoochee River 2020-12-21

Update 2020-12-27: Bad Knights Ferry and Nankin, Christmas Day, Withlacoochee River 2020-12-25.

Sometimes you hate to be right: the high E. coli WWALS testers Michael and Jacob Bachrach saw Thursday at Knights Ferry Boat Ramp turned up for Friday in Valdosta’s results. Probably that contamination washed on down past the state line into Florida over the weekend.

Plus, after rain Sunday, Valdosta got too-high results at US 41 and GA 133. That’s probably still washing downstream now.

I’ve added two new “beaches” to Swim Guide, for Langdale Park Boat Ramp (the closest good public access downstream from US 41),

and for the GA 133 Withlacoochee River Bridge, where Valdosta keeps finding sky-high E. coli. That one isn’t really public access. I’ve added it just to display these results.

I don’t know why the GA 133 “beach” is showing no data on the Swim Guide map. Fixed.

I put Valdosta’s November and December data for GA 133 into Swim Guide, and you can see its SG web page is showing 43% fail.

At least you can see Langdale Park Boat Ramp currently shows red for fail, as still does Nankin Boat Ramp.
