Water Trails

WWALS is the organizer of three water trails, with and has composite maps of all three, covering the entire 10,000-square-mile Suwannee River Basin in Georgia and Florida.

All Landings in the Suwannee River Basin

See the WWALS composite map of all public landings and boat ramps in the Suwannee River Basin.

This is the most general map, covering the entire Basin from the headwaters of the Little, Withlacoochee, Alapaha, and Suwannee Rivers to the Gulf of Mexico. Due to limitations of Google maps, it does not include many details beyond landings.

Alapaha River Water Trail (ARWT)

WWALS has published new maps and three editions of brochures for the Alapaha River Water Trail, and has placed road signs and at-water signs, updating and revitalizing a water trail that was first documented in the 1970s.

Withlacoochee and Little River Water Trail (WLRWT)

WWALS has produced online maps, a z-fold brochure, road signs, and at-water signs for the two dozen public landings on the WLRWT, which was also first documented in the 1970s.

Suwannee River Water Trail (SRWT)

The WWALS map of the Suwannee River Water Trail runs from the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia to the Gulf of Mexico, including the Santa Fe, Ichetucknee, and New Rivers. Florida’s Suwannee River Wilderness Trail from White Springs to the Gulf existed before WWALS, and we constantly draw on its materials, in communication with its organizers. We draw on other sources from the Okefenokee Swamp to the Gulf, including our own outings and researches.
